Rewilding the Paddock: A Little Update from Annie’s Place 🌱🌼

It’s still early days, but we couldn’t wait to share a little glimpse of what we’ve been up to behind the scenes here at Annie’s Place. We’ve started rewilding the paddock—and while it’s a slow process (and I’m not the most patient gardener! 😅), the first signs of life are already peeking through 🌿👀.
We’ve scattered a beautiful mix of cornflower seeds 💙 along the outer edges, and tiny green shoots are starting to appear—such a hopeful sight! Once they’re up, we’ll be letting the edges bloom in all their wild glory, bringing bursts of colour and a feast for the bees 🐝🌸.
A young orchard is taking root too 🍎🍐🍒. We’ve planted cherries, apples, plums and pears—still just babies for now, but we’re dreaming ahead to the future. One day, these trees will offer fruit for us, shelter for birds 🐦, and nectar for pollinators 🦋. It’s a lush little vision in the making 🌳💚.
Over on the south-facing side, a newly planted wisteria is getting settled in. It might take its sweet time to flower 💜, but it’s in the perfect spot to (eventually!) become a real showstopper 🌞✨.

To help welcome our wild visitors, we’ve also added more birdhouses 🏡 and extended our little “insect hotel chain” 🐞🐛. It’s quiet so far—our guests are a tad shy—but once the pollen-rich blooms arrive, we hope the place will be humming with life 🎶🌷🦟.
We don’t use any insecticides at Annie’s Place 🚫🧪, and truth be told, I’m not the greenest-fingered gardener around… so you may spot some unexpected (and possibly unintentional!) plant life in the mix 😅. That said, nature seems to be doing her thing beautifully. Right now, the paddock is awash with golden buttercups 💛, dotted with red clover ❤️, tiny sweet violets 💜, thyme-leaved speedwell 💙, cowslips 🌼, primroses 🌸, and of course, a happy splattering of daisies 🤍.
So if you’re staying with us, take a little wander, sit among the blooms 🌺, and soak up the quiet magic ✨ of a space that’s slowly being handed back to nature.
With muddy boots and wildflower dreams,
Anne x 🌸🌾👒
